A ‘horror story,’ is a story that is meant to scare you. We sometime use the word to describe ‘worst case scenarios.’ When I bought my motorcycle, some people had to tell me of all the people they knew who were hurt in motorcycle accidents, for example. Those stories were ‘horror stories.’
In today’s recording, I’ll talk about the thing that is hardest for me about becoming a father: the horror stories.
Before You Hear the Recording
Have you heard any horror stories about being a parent? When you think about being a parent, do any worst case scenarios come to mind? What do you think I’ll talk about in today’s recording? Start the recording and see if you’re right or not.
After You’ve Heard the Recording
Do you think that the horror stories are true? Do you think our first weeks as parents will be as bad as everyone says? I know that I said I’m tired of hearing horror stories, but do you have any horror stories of parenthood? Do you have any positive stories of the first weeks of parenthood?
