A listening exercise about grammar? It doesn’t sound like fun, but it should be helpful, right? Today we’re going to be talking about getting around—moving from one place to another—with planes, trains, and automobiles. Anything with wheels, I guess.
Before you listen to the recording take a moment and think about how you’d complete these sentences with the verbs ‘ride,’ take’ and ‘drive.’ You should be able to use each word once.
-
I _____________________ my car to work.
-
We will ____________________ a train to Berlin.
-
My brother _____________________ the tram to work.
Now, listen to the recording and the explanation of the words. When you’ve finished, think about how you were going to use them just a few minutes ago. Do your answers still make sense?
Take a moment now, and start thinking of some sentences using these words. Think of how you would use them to describe your everyday experiences, and the people around you. It’s always a good idea to put the sentences you make in the comments: I’ll be glad to correct them.

Thanks for the describtion the difference between ride and drive. I usually drive my car to work. I’ve never ride a tram in my life. But I want. I used to take a train to school when I was at university.
in my opinion People should use the mass transportation, due to lack of energy.

Ali: I think that ‘describtion’ was just a typo, right? Where you wrote “I’ve never ride” you should have written “I’ve never ridden” and “But I want” should be “but I want to.”
And I agree: when it’s possible, people should use mas transportation. Not only is it better for the environment, but you can read while you’re doing it!

Ali: I’m sorry. I wasn’t clear enough. “Description” was the right word, but it’s spelled with a ‘p.’ Description.
